A quick response by Rural Metro Fire crews left a Knox County home with only minimal smoke damage. Within five minutes of the call coming in just before 5 a.m., firefighters arrived at a home in the 8000 block fo Emory Road. There they found a family out in their yard and a house full of smoke. While searching for the cause of the smoke, firefighters rescued a "very scared" cat. Firefighters then discovered the smoke was coming from a couch in a spare bedroom that had caught fire. The couch was removed to the front yard and the home ventilated. "This is what a quick response time can do for you," said Jeff Bagwell, with Rural Metro.
