One person sustained minor injuries in a house fire in the Gratis community Wednesday afternoon. Walton County Fire Rescue were called at 4:29 p.m. Firefighters responded to 1870 Dry Pond Road NW found the house fully involved upon arrival. “Defensive operations were conducted, and the fire was brought under control after about a half-hour,” Capt. Jeff Allen said. One of the home’s occupants sustained a minor injury. Allen said the Monroe Police Department provided assistance.
