VIDEO - Gainesville Fire-Rescues' newest class of recruits will be sworn in Thursday, after finishing six weeks of orientation.
But first, one final day of training.
District Chief of the Gainesville Fire-Rescue, Mike Steele said, "this is their final training burn so we run them through a pretty vigorous six-week training process.”
Although it wasn't a real situation, the heat was definitely turned up.
“The training evolution's we have done here today are certainly challenging both physically and mentally," said Firefighter Elliot Tobin.
The firefighters who come to work for the City of Gainesville have to go through a six week orientation to learn how fire-rescue in the city of Gainesville works.
