Firefighters with the Florida Forest Service's Blackwater Forestry Center returned Tuesday morning to continue monitoring and improving containment lines for a large wildfire near Jones Swamp. Crews battled the 70-acre fire until about 9 p.m. Monday. When they left, the fire was 90 percent contained and there was a line around the entire blaze. Firefighters returned Tuesday morning to get a more accurate assessment of the fire's perimeter, according to an update for the Florida Forest Service. They are expected to work throughout the day to improve the fire line and monitor for potential flare ups.
