Fire officials on Friday extricated a man from his car after he got pinned in the doorway of his pickup truck while at a local restaurant. The man was utilizing the drive-through line at the restaurant and rescuers were called just after noon on Friday. After completing his transaction, the driver stepped out of his pickup truck in an attempt to retrieve his change dropped on the ground, fire officials said. The vehicle inadvertently rolled forward, causing the driver’s door to strike a steel and concrete baluster. The man was then entrapped between the door and body of the pickup truck, officials said. Numerous tools and construction equipment being carried inside the pickup truck complicated the process of firefighters extricating the man, officials said. However, the driver was freed from the doorway after about 20 minutes.
