VIDEO: A Colorado man is being considered a hero after pulling a mother and her baby out of a crashed car that burst into flames just moments after.
“I just happened to be at the right spot at the right time,” said Alec Larson, the man at the center of the story.
Alec Larson was heading into work on Highway 82, near Glenwood Springs, on Thursday when he saw two cars crash right in front of him.
“The adrenaline kicked in and then I realized what happened. It was a matter of maybe three minutes from the time of the crash happening, to the time that the fire went up, so it was all really fast and chaotic,” said Larson.
During those three minutes, Larson said he grabbed a pair of scissors from his work truck and ran to the crashed car. He managed to pull a woman out from the front seat and get her a safe distance away. That’s when he realized there was a baby in the back seat.
