A car driven by a 92-year-old man bumped into a patio pillar at the Mirasol senior housing complex shortly after noon Monday. No one was injured, and damage was slight. According to Loveland Police Officer Justin Lorenzen, the man, a Loveland resident who doesn't live at Mirasol, "was pulling in to park at a spot at the Mirasol apartment complex at 1107 Finch St. when he inadvertenly hit the accelerator, went over a curb and hit the patio pillar, causing damage." The man was checked by a Thompson Valley Emergency Medical Services ambulance crew and released at the scene. The surface of the pillar was crushed at its base, and cracks were visible in the stucco higher up; firefighters called a city of Loveland building inspector to assess the structure.
