VIDEO: Six people were displaced after a fire damaged their first-floor apartment in west Phoenix on Sunday morning, a fire official said. Capt. Jake Van Hook, a Phoenix Fire Department spokesman, said a mother and her teenage son were in the unit when the fire started, but they didn't suffer any injuries. The fire was at an apartment complex at 67th Avenue and Indian School Road. A fire crew was able to contain the fire to the one unit, Van Hook said. The woman told firefighters that before the flames spread across the unit, she heard a loud crack and then her neighbors pounding on her front door.
