Multiple engines and companies battled heavy smoke as they fought the flames from the ground and the air. The smoke was so thick Jonesboro police shut down the road and directed traffic around the area. According to the fire department, City Water and Light “disconnected the power and boosted their pumps, providing much-needed water to the scene.” JFD added that Summit Utilities turned off the gas to the building to stop a ruptured gas line fire.
