Firefighters battled a fire that impacted a house and several backyards in a Greenwood neighborhood on Thursday.
Greenwood Fire Chief Stewart Bryan, whose firefighters were primarily responsible for battling the fire, said the fire began in a house in the 1300 block of Grand Oak Drive on Thursday afternoon. He said the cause of the fire is still under investigation.
The fire spread backward from the structure and scorched “probably four” adjacent backyards, Bryan said
“Winds were a contributing factor. Winds and dry grass,” Bryan said.
Bryan said that a family lived in the affected residence at the time of the fire. He said that no one in the family was injured in the fire.
