Russellville Fire Department battles vehicle fire after car collides with gas meter and crashes into tree

At approximately 3:20 p.m. Wednesday afternoon, March 14, the Russellville Police Department, Russellville Fire Department Engine 2 and Pope County EMS 133 were dispatched to a motor vehicle collision with injury on Quarry Road. Upon checking en route to the call, responders were informed by Pope County dispatchers that the 911 caller reporting the collision advised that a vehicle had crashed at the end of the road and the vehicle was on fire. The caller also stated that there were two people in the car and a female had fallen out of the passenger side of the vehicle. Pope County EMS was provided with updated information by dispatch and was advised that there was possibly a burn patient due to the car catching fire.
