An investigation is underway after a woman's body is found in a burned room inside a home. Fire crews were first called to an address on Winchester Point for a reported cardiac arrest and possible deceased person. The Garland County Sheriff's Office was already on scene when the fire department arrived and deputies told them about the fire. The fire chief at 70 West says the fire appears to have been contained in one room and the victim was found about a foot from the exit. "When you have a fire like that, it's unusual for it to not find an avenue to travel out to produce smoke outside the residence," explains Autumn Carlisle, Fire Chief of 70 West Fire Department. The woman's official cause of death has not yet been released.
