Smoke inside the Columbia County Library on North Jackson Street led to a brief evacuation of the facility on Thursday afternoon. The Magnolia Fire Department determined that a burned-out motor on an air conditioning unit was the source of the smoke. Staff was allowed back into the building at 3:41 p.m., and firefighters returned to the station at 3:49 p.m. One pumper truck was dispatched. Entergy Corporation also arrived to cut off power.
