Montgomery Fire/Rescue extinguishes residential fire

VIDEO: Montgomery Fire/Rescue battled a residential fire on Somerville Drive Monday night and is now investigating the cause. According to MF/R, on Monday around 9:24 p.m., Engine 9, Engine 3, Truck 45, Rescue 98, and Car 33 responded to the 3400 block of Somerville Drive on a possible structure fire. Once on the scene, units found a single-story residential structure fully engulfed in flames. Crews laid hand lines and mounted an initial defensive attack, and began extinguishing fire on the inside. MF/R stated that no occupants were home at the time of the fire, but three dogs were unharmed in the backyard. There were no reports of any injuries to civilians, animals, or firefighters. No further information has been provided at this time, and the Bureau of Investigations is investigating the cause of the fire.
