Mobile Fire-Rescue crews battle two residential fires Friday morning. Firefighters responded to a residential fire in the 600 block of Glenwood Street just after 11 a.m. today. MFRD reported heavy smoke and flames visible from a single-story dwelling. Shortly after noon, the fire department reported fire on Glenwood Street was extinguished. Crews remained on scene for overhaul and salvage operations, MFRD said via Twitter. Fire investigators were on scene attempting to determine the cause of the fire. No injuries were reported, said MFRD public information officer Steven Millhouse. MFRD crews also made quick work of extinguishing another residential fire earlier in the morning. According to Millhouse, at about 9:15 a.m., Mobile Fire-Rescue Department companies were dispatched to the 500 block of Bonnet Hill Circle. MFRD says callers reported smoke and flames inside of the home. Upon arrival on scene, fire crews confirmed heavy smoke and flames exiting a single story home.
