The Gardendale City Council on Monday said goodbye to longtime fire chief Clint Doss, who is retiring. Mayor Stan Hogeland and the other council members and members of the public honored Doss for his years of service. The new chief, Joe Thomas, made the promotions alongside Doss. Brody Cooper was promoted to captain to fill Thomas’ old role. Brian Hill was promoted to lieutenant and Josh Phillips was promoted to sergeant.
