Saturday firefighters battled flames from a home on 16th Street North. One of the first fire fighters to respond was relieved from duty once he got on scene because his brother was inside the house. "You're used to doing your job, which is fighting fires saving lives, but when it hits on a personal level you know it adds a new element to fire fighting," said Birmingham Fire Captain Bryan Harrell.
Harrell said the Chaplain was on scene within minutes, "he was able to counsel with him on the scene."
