Phillip “Fry” Bell is a self-described adrenaline junkie, a claim backed by his fellow firefighters at the Opelika Fire Department.
“If you see a picture of Fry in his natural environment, he’s probably got an American flag Speedo on,” said Austin Smith, who has been at the fire department for almost 10 years, barely more than Bell’s nine.
“I think he was wearing that thing at the Christmas party,” Capt. Stephen Fields said.
Bell’s coworkers describe him as “a very free-spirited guy and a very unique individual,” Smith said. “He’s loud, he’s outgoing and he’s fun-loving.”
