Following a decade of service with Fultondale Fire and Rescue, Chief Bryan Powell last week resigned. David Smith, the city’s public safety director, said an interim chief has not been named for the volunteer city fire department. He added that Fultondale officials are now in the process of finding the next leader for the department that boasts approximately 30 volunteers. Smith said he does not know why Powell stepped down or the exact day when he resigned.
