CHI's Nebraska Heart Hospital is celebrating two milestones, and they have to do with a Nebraska firefighter. He came to them with a failing heart, and now doctors said not only is his heart fixed for now, but it could heal itself so he wouldn't need a transplant. The staff at NHH said it could work on future heart patients, too. Mike Arnold is the first patient to get a new type of heart pump from the hospital. The new technology could give him a whole new shot at life, but it's been a long road to get here. The 51-year-old was a firefighter in Omaha, and nine years ago he found out his heart was failing.
