Idanha-Detroit Fire District

Location: Detroit, OR

The Idanha-Detroit Rural Fire Protection District protects the communities of Idanha, Detroit, Breitenbush, and Marion Forks in Marion and Linn Counties and provides emergency services to the surrounding Willamette National Forest, a total of over 600 square miles.

We are seeking a part-time Chief with experience in emergency services who has the knowledge, skills, and abilities in fire suppression, EMS, supervisory and interpersonal communications for effective recruitment, training, relationship building, and leadership of volunteer responders.

The proposed wage equals $1,500 per month with the expectation that the Chief will be present in the district for about 6 days per month and will assist with response coverage (as Duty Officer), attend various local and county meetings, and provide monthly reports to the board of directors.  Overnight accommodations are available at the Idanha Fire Station if needed.

Desired qualifications include 10+ years in the fire service with experience as an officer as well as currently licensed Oregon EMT or EMR.  Completion of IS-100, IS-200, ICS-300, ICS-400, IS-700, IS-701, & IS-800 required.  Applications may be downloaded on our web site at  Any questions about the position or district, please email  Open until filled.
