Missouri City Fire hosts a Leadership in Supervision workshop

Creating Environments for Professional Growth

Missouri City Fire and Rescue Services (MCFRS) places a high priority on Leadership and Professional Growth. From this value, MCFRS hosted a two day, Leadership in Supervision class tiled: Creating Environments for Professional Growth this month to begin the New Year. Those attending the training included all of MCFRS supervisors, Command, and Executive staff as well as other department members from surrounding jurisdictions of Southeast Texas. This class is a National Fire Academy sponsored course, facilitated by TEEX that provides Officers with the necessary leadership skills and tools needed to perform effectively in our emerging fire service environment. The course covered when and how to delegate to subordinates, assessing personal leadership styles through situational leadership, disciplining subordinates, how to apply coaching and motivating techniques. Stay on the lookout because MCFRS will host the second class of this three part leadership series in early 2019.
