VIDEO: The Huntington Fire Department held a promotion ceremony for six firefighters on Wednesday after several positions opened up because of retirement. Testing and longevity with the department factors into promotions. During the ceremony, Aaron Williams was promoted to Deputy Chief while Jeremy Kress, James Vogt, and Patrick Stapleton were named department captains. Thomas Sims and Jeremy Pitsenbarger were promoted to Lieutenants. "I never thought I would want to be in this rank but just with anyone your goals and wants change over time," said Deputy Chief Aaron Williams. Along with the promotions, the department will welcome a new class of eight firefighters that are anticipated to join in September or October.
