Two Mercer County fire departments are coming together to support one of their own.
Matthew Bowles is a full-time firefighter with the City of Bluefield, WV Fire Department who was recently diagnosed with Non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma.
City of Bluefield, WV Fire Department and East River Volunteer Fire Department are partnering to raise money to help Bowles with his medical bills by hosting a raffle.
“Matthew puts in countless hours serving his community and doing his part in giving back,” said ERVFD in a Facebook post. “As his medical bills begin to come in, they are adding up quickly. ERVFD has partnered up with the city of Bluefield WV Fire Department to put on a raffle with all proceeds going to support Matthew.”
