Four people and two cats are without a home after a fire tore through their apartment, which sits atop a café in Madison. The Madison Fire Department says they responded to an electrical fire on the 2700 block of Atwood Avenue just before 10:00 p.m. Sunday night. Officials say flames were spotted crawling up the side of the building when they arrived. The café below the apartment is listed as ‘The Victory’. According to a Facebook post, the café says they are closed until further notice. As crews entered the building, they encountered smoke throughout the building with fire spotted inside some of the walls and ceilings. MFD reports those flames were put out quickly. No one living in the building was hurt, and MFD says two cats living inside were reunited with their owners. The American Red Cross was called to help out those displaced.
