The Cottage Grove Village Board has chosen to participate in a joint fire and EMS study being conducted by the city of Sun Prairie.
The village board on Oct. 7 voted to approve supporting the city of Sun Prairie, and the towns of Bristol and Sun Prairie as they conduct a study on the challenges of fire and EMS through the Wisconsin Policy Forum.
The village of Cottage Grove received a letter in September from the Sun Prairie village administrator, asking the village to share information which will be used in the study.
The letter said the Wisconsin Policy Forum will “conduct an analysis of fire and EMS services and propose a spectrum of options for policymakers to consider.”
The study would also lead to opportunities for collaboration like joint training, equipment maintenance and staffing, the letter said.
