Drivers on a busy I-41 corridor through the Fox Valley were forced to find alternate routes after a fiery crash Wednesday morning. The Wisconsin Department of Transportation says the crash happened just before 5:30 a.m. The semi-trailer was overturned in the northbound lanes. Video from WBAY viewer Mike Menzel shows the cab engulfed. The Outagamie County Sheriff’s Office says the truck driver and others involved were not hurt. The interstate was closed in both directions between Richmond St. and Northland Ave. in Grand Chute. Southbound lanes opened about an hour after the crash, but northbound lanes remained closed at 9 a.m. Video from our crew on the scene shows the trailer was filled with bales of cardboard.
