The Menomonie Fire and Police Departments were surprised with a sizable gift.
On Monday, Lynne Nielsen, Trustee for the Robert B. Wigen Family Trust, gave the Menomonie Fire Department and Police Department a donation of $100,000 each.
A spokesperson with the police department said this was the largest donation ever received by either department.
"We're immensely grateful for Lynne Nielsen's unwavering commitment to making a difference and to the Wigen family for their enduring legacy of compassion. Their generosity will echo through the halls of our departments for years to come, touching countless lives and ensuring the safety and well-being of our community," a Facebook post from the police department read.
