A structure fire broke out on Friday, July 19, at approximately 5:33 p.m. in the 1000 block of Cold Spring Rd. The Fox Crossing Fire Department, along with auto-aid units from the Grand Chute Fire Department, Clayton Fire Rescue, and the Town of Neenah Fire Department, responded to the scene. The initial report from the first arriving Fox Crossing Fire Department units indicated a single-story, single-family home with smoke emerging from the eaves and flames visible from the rear of the house. A Mutual Aid Box Alarm System (MABAS) was activated, bringing additional units from Appleton Fire Department and Neenah-Menasha Fire Rescue to assist. Firefighters utilized four hose lines to combat the fire, which involved both the interior and exterior of the residence. Search and rescue operations revealed four pets had died.
