Firefighters took 10 children and one adult to a hospital Thursday afternoon after a crash involving a school bus and a minivan in the Town of Dover in Racine County.
According to the Kansasville Fire and Rescue Department, the crash happened at the intersection of Sunnyside Drive and Church Road at about 12:15 p.m.
The school bus, carrying 51 people, was on the way to a summer camp roller-skating event. It collided with a mini van, carrying an adult and three children. The four people in the van declined further treatment at the scene, investigators said.
Five ambulances took 10 children and one adult injured on board the bus to Aurora Medical Center Mount Pleasant. Their injuries are not expected to be life-threatening.
"Fortunately, the injuries sustained were not more serious," KFRD Battalion Chief John Dahms said.
