Lower Yakima Valley firefighters responded to four structure fires on Tuesday and Wednesday, authorities reported. Yakima County Fire District 5 crews worked structure fires on South Wapato Road and Osborne Road between 3 a.m. and 7 a.m. Tuesday, according to information from the fire district. On Wednesday they responded to a structure fire north of White Swan on Wesley Road, followed by a structure fire early Wednesday evening in the 4700 Block of Ashue Road, outside Wapato. Fire District 5 has 15 fire stations and covers 800 square miles of rural landscape in the Lower Valley. Eight firefighters from four fire district stations responded to the earliest fire Tuesday, at 2:30 a.m., and had it under control at 5 a.m., according to a news release. That fire was in a four-bay detached garage at 1290 South Wapato Road.
