Neff Road fire scorches over 1,400 acres in Walla Walla County

PHOTOS: A quick moving fire swept through a portion of Walla Walla County over the weekend burning upwards of 1,400 acres. The Neff Road fire burned 1,439 acres of pasture and Conservation Reserve Program (CRP) land fueled by high winds on Saturday, June 15. The fire, near the town of Prescott, was fully contained as of Monday. No one was hurt during the fire and there were no structures or livestock lost. Leaders from the Walla Walla North County Fire Districted shared multiple photos of the fire on its Facebook page. The agency said thanks to multiple other responding agencies, they were able to get the flames under control quickly. A cause of the fire is still under investigation.
