A man in his 30s was hospitalized following a house explosion and fire that occurred in Marysville Tuesday afternoon. The Marysville Fire District said the incident occurred in the area of the 2800 block of 81st Street NE. Firefighters, according to officials, responded to the fire with an explosion at a residence on the Tulalip Tribes Reservation just after 2:30 p.m. and arrived five minutes later to find a working fire. Marysville Fire District officials said the first engine made an effort to confine the fire to the building where it initially began. A young woman was also injured in the fire, but she didn't need to be hospitalized, according to officials. The home ultimately sustained damage from both the fire and explosion and is estimated at over $150,000, according to officials.
