VIDEO/PHOTOS: Dozens of firefighters worked to put out a 2-alarm fire in a vacant commercial building in Seattle’s Chinatown-International District Monday. The fire in the 1000 block of South Jackson Street started at around midnight and continued to burn at least seven hours later. More than 85 firefighters responded. Crews battled the flames from outside the building. Seattle Fire said three ladder trucks poured water on the fire from above. An X post from Alert Seattle at 1:11 a.m. said neighbors in the area should close their windows and doors due to smoke. No injuries have been reported. The building hasn’t been occupied for about two years. “Crews will remain on scene for several hours until the fire is extinguished, the building is searched and the investigation into the cause of the fire is complete,” Seattle Fire said in a blotter post.
