PHOTOS: One person is dead after an early morning barn fire north of Ridgefield, fire officials say. According to Clark-Cowlitz Fire Rescue, they were dispatched to a report of a building fire at 29416 NW 51st Avenue around 7:03 a.m. Officials say when the first fire crew arrived they saw a large barn/outbuilding engulfed in flames, and the fire started to spread to an RV and car next to the outbuilding. Crews learned from bystanders that a person might be inside the flame-engulfed building. One of the residents of the building arrived shortly after the firefighters and they tried to enter the building and had to be restrained by firefighters. Clark-Cowlitz Fire Rescue said that anyone who attempted to go in without protective gear at that point would have certainly perished.
