VIDEO: First responders from across the Tri-Cities are gearing up for a friendly competition for a good cause. On February 3rd in partnership with the Tri-City Americans, local police will face off against firefighters for a hockey game to raise funds for local cancer patients, and the Fraternal Order of Police's Memorial Fund. Claire Venema, Community Relations Specialist, and PIO for the Richland Police Department, says. "Puck drops at 4:05 p.m. which is so exciting. We have a little friendly rivalry with our fire and law enforcement here in the Tri-Cities." Tickets are already on sale, Richland Police leaders say to order tickets directly from the online link to make sure donations go to the appropriate cause. First responders also tell us, beyond the competition, they love seeing the community come out to support them.
