13 Puget Sound Fire firefighters graduate from recruit academy

Thirteen Kent-based Puget Sound Fire recruit firefighters recently graduated from the South King County Fire Training Consortium recruit academy number 17. A total of 57 recruit firefighters graduated from 10 King County fire departments. More than 700 family members, friends and firefighters attended the graduation Jan. 19 at the River of Life Fellowship Church in Kent, according to Puget Sound Fire. Fire Chief Brian Carson delivered a message and a video of the recruits during their 21-week fire academy was shown. Each firefighter received their badges, which were pinned on by loved ones. The 13 new firefighters for Puget Sound Fire are: Ethan Correa, Michael de la Torre, Sarah Hiegel, Ethan Keyser, Chancellor Konig, Joanna McKittrick, Aaron Mochizuki, Carlos Montemayor, Fiona Morgan, Levi Nichols, Valeria Pinos Aguirre, Ridge Quitoriano and Colton Richards.
