VIDEO/PHOTOS: Firefighters who serve the Pierce County communities of Browns Point and Dash Point are without several of their life-saving tools after thieves picked through a fire engine while it was parked at a grocery store on Monday. Citizens ran into the QFC store on 49th Ave NE to tell the firefighters someone was rummaging through their engine while they were inside. “It’s aggravating and frustrating,” said Lt. Dylan Tapia of Pierce County Fire District 13. “This was the first time I’ve ever seen anything like this. I’d heard stories about it happening up in Seattle.” Tapia said the fire crew saw the thieves speeding away from the engine in a white pickup truck with a U-Haul trailer. They got away with saws and other tools from the fire trucks’ compartments.
