A Walla Walla Fire Department (WWFD) firefighter died while on duty on Sunday morning.
According to WWFD, Fire Engineer Ryan Pleasants died while he was working. Pleasants worked for WWFD for 20 years.
WWFD first hired Pleasants as a firefighter and medic in 2005. The fire department later promoted Pleasants in July 2023. "Ryan will be forever missed by all his brothers and sisters of the WWFD," the WWFD said in a Facebook post, "Our deepest condolences go out to his Family and his community,"
The fire department did not release the firefighter's cause of death. The memorial service for Pleasants will be announced at a later date.
