The Seattle Fire Department (SFD) crews responded just before 5 a.m. to a large building fire near the intersection of 9th Ave and Madison Street. The building was a 4-story vacant structure, according to the SFD.
Aaron Darbee, who lives nearby, said he woke up to the sound of sirens as firefighters responded to the building. He told KOMO News the building where the fire started has caught fire before.
"First I heard sirens, then I checked online and saw it was the building that burned last year – I don’t remember when it was, but it burned before," said Darbee.
