A fire at a warehouse along Highway 303 in East Bremerton drew several Central Kitsap Fire and Rescue trucks to a small commercial area on Wednesday afternoon. CKFR firefighters arrived just before 4 p.m. to a 10,000-square-foot building, used as a Northwest Beverage distribution center, where heavy smoke could be seen through the area. A box truck was on fire inside the building, according to a statement from CKFR. The structure’s sprinkler system had activated and held the fire in check until the firefighters could completely extinguish it, CKFR said. The building was unoccupied and there were no injuries to first responders, CKFR said. The Kitsap County Fire Marshal will investigate the cause of the fire, according to the agency.
