Firefighters rescued an individual from a house fire in Washougal early Tuesday morning. According to East County Fire and Rescue, crews responded to a fire involving a person with a disability trapped at a residence at 412 NE Blair Rd. early in the morning. When firefighters arrived at the one-story structure, the fire was fully active, with a resident confirming that one person was trapped inside his bedroom. ECFR’s Engine 91 stopped the fire from spreading by stretching a hose line. The Engine 91 Captain, assisted by crews from the Camas Washougal and Fire Departments, rescued the trapped occupant, officials said. “The fire was quickly knocked down and the building was searched for additional occupants. Operations were hindered by the large amount of contents in the building and energized electrical wiring."
