PHOTOS: Lightning caused fires burning in Olympic National Park are increasing in size and causing poor air quality for those in Clallam County. Additional resources were ordered to manage and support firefighters on the ground. InciWeb estimates between 400 and 500 acres are burning, but a more accurate size will be known after infrared mapping flights take place on Monday. While there's no threat to critical infrastructure or communities from the lightning caused fires, Olympic National Park has additional trail closures in place. Smoke from the fires were seen throughout the the north Olympic Peninsula region. West Thurston County Fire was alerted to a wildfire in Capitol Forest at about 9:30 p.m. Saturday night. According to Washington State Department of Natural Resources (DNR), the fire is burning at about 50 acres.
