VIDEO: The fire off I-82 at milepost eleven that started Sunday morning, is still burning. Right now, it is at 40 percent containment.
The fire has burnt about 300 acres, but as of now, the fire has stayed in the same place from when it started.
"The fact that the fire is kinda sitting in the same footprint that it was close to 24 hours ago is a good thing," said Thomas Kyle-Milward, the wildfire communications specialist for the Washington State Department of Natural Resources.
The D-N-R in Ellensburg says they were able to respond to it in an appropriate measure.
"I think this is a situation in which with no sort of heavy timider burn, this was a fire that we were able to respond to with the right resources at the right time and get to a pretty good place pretty quickly," Kyle-Milward said.
