Firefighters are reminding everyone of winter fire safety as you get prepared for the freezing temperatures headed our way.
Starting at 11 pm tonight and continuing until 9 tomorrow morning, weather officials say it's going to get between 27 and 31 degrees.
These temperatures can kill crops and cause damage to outdoor plumbing.
And as you start warming up your home, firefighters are warning of other dangers.
"Make sure it's a UL listed space heater, that's very important.” Said Jim Johnston, Deputy Chief of the West Valley Fire Department.” Make sure you don't have combustibles within 3 feet of a space heater and limit the use of extension cords or don't use extension cords at all because if you use the wrong size extension cord it can cause excessive electrical current to go in there which causes the wires to heat up which ultimately leads to a fire."
