Several dogs were evacuated from a dog daycare in Seattle's SODO neighborhood Monday night when a fire broke out on the second floor of the Dog Resort. When firefighters originally responded to the scene in the 600 block of South Industrial Way, multiple dogs were still on the loose. David Cuerpo, the public information officer for the Seattle Fire Department, said the fire was reported by staff just after 8:30 p.m. Staff members then immediately started to evacuate all the dogs and relocated them to a fenced-in, outdoor area. "All the humans were accounted for, and the dogs were able to escape. Right now, we are working with the operators of the business to see if all the dogs are accounted for," Cuerpo said. Seattle police officers also responded to the scene. They helped corral any loose dogs and shut down nearby streets as a preventative measure.
