'Fill the Helmet’ auction, dinner to benefit Bucoda mayor and firefighter Rob Gordon

Bucoda mayor, volunteer firefighter, truck driver and ranch owner Rob Gordon was recently diagnosed with stage 4 stomach cancer. On Dec. 17, in honor of the jack-of-all-trades, Skookumchuck Odd Fellows Lodge No. 129, Bucoda Rebekah Lodge No. 144, Trinity (Napavine) Rebekah Lodge No. 179, Bucoda Improvement Club, Bucoda Firefighters Association and the Tenino Fire Department are “banding together,” according to a news release. Beginning at 3 p.m. in the upper floor of the Bucoda Community Center, the groups will host a spaghetti, salad and garlic bread dinner, coffee and punch, an auction, and a “Fill the Helmet” donation drive. All proceeds will go to the Gordon family. A flier for the event lists the timeframe as “3 p.m. until ?”
