1 recovering from smoke inhalation after apartment fire in Spokane

VIDEO: One person is recovering from smoke inhalation after a fire broke out in their apartment. According to The Spokane Fire Department (SFD), at 5:28 p.m. on Saturday, fire crews responded to a fire at an apartment complex in the 200 Block of East Nora Avenue. Multiple 911 calls reported a fire alarm going off and smoke on the third floor of the building. Callers said they also heard people screaming as they tried to evacuate the building. Fire crews arrived on the scene within minutes and saw smoke billowing from the third floor with one person leaning out their window. One adult victim was rescued from the apartment where the fire started, but they did suffer from smoke inhalation and was treated on scene. Firefighters put out the fire within minutes, limiting the damage to mainly the bedroom where the fire started.
