VIDEO/PHOTOS: Fire crews in Snohomish County rescued a woman from her car after she got stuck in the flooded Stillaguamish River Tuesday afternoon.
The North County Regional Fire Authority (NCRFA) responded to a call of a vehicle in the water near 236th Street NE and 6th Ave around 2:00 p.m.The woman drove around a road closed sign, and her car became disabled in the water, according to acting Captain Willy Harper.
“You never know where the water level is going – up or down, and in this case, she was in about a foot of water, so it was coming into her vehicle," Harper told KOMO News at the scene. "It stalled her vehicle out, and she was unable to keep warm."
Firefighters removed the woman from the water and loaded her into an ambulance to warm up.
