VIDEO/PHOTOS: Firefighters were able to gain more containment on the Gray Fire burning in Medical Lake.
According to Northwest Incident Management Team 7, DNR and Spokane County Fire District 3, the Gray Fire is 85% contained. The fire has burned 10,085 acres, and 461 personnel are working to put out the fire.
About 240 homes have been destroyed by the Gray Fire.
Monday, crews were putting out hot spots along the fire perimeter and inside the perimeter as well. The incident management team says there might be small, short duration flames as remaining smoldering material may increase in smoke production because of the hotter, dryer conditions in the area.
